The House

Sustainability

The honest version

A ring that is made once, for one person, and worn for decades.

Sustainability in jewellery is mostly claims. Green badges, offset logos, words like ethical and conscious that mean whatever the seller needs them to mean. We would rather tell you exactly what we do, what it changes, and what we do not claim.

The stones

Grown, not mined

Every diamond we sell is lab grown. It is a real diamond, the same carbon in the same crystal structure, grown over weeks in a chamber rather than over a billion years underground. Nothing is dug up, no land is moved and no water table is disturbed to make it.

Our diamonds are grown by CVD and HPHT, the two methods there are. Every centre stone of one carat and above is graded by IGI and arrives with its own report, and the growth method is printed on it. You see the report before you commit, so the origin is not something you have to take our word for.

We will not tell you a grown diamond has zero impact. Growing one takes energy, and how clean that energy is depends on the facility. What we can say is that it removes mining from the equation entirely, and that is the largest single change available in a diamond.

About lab grown diamonds

The making

Made to order, not to stock

We do not hold a shelf of finished rings waiting for someone to want them. A piece is designed, rendered, approved and then made, for you, in your size and your metal. Nothing is made speculatively and nothing sits unsold to be melted down later.

That is not a sustainability feature we added. It is simply how a made to order house works, and it happens to be the least wasteful way to make jewellery.

Because every piece is drawn in CAD before it is cast, the metal is used precisely. There is no rack of samples, no returns pile and no seasonal clearance.

Made to order, explained

The metal

Gold does not wear out

Fine jewellery is one of the few things you buy that does not degrade. Gold and platinum can be resized, repaired, repolished and, at the very end, melted and remade. A well made ring is not a purchase with a lifespan. It is a material that keeps its value and its use.

We make to that standard on purpose. Solid shanks, proper prong weight, settings designed to be worn every day rather than kept for occasions. The most sustainable piece of jewellery is the one you never need to replace.

Our lifetime warranty

What we do not claim

No badges

We do not call ourselves carbon neutral, because we have not measured it and we will not buy a certificate to say otherwise. We do not call our gold recycled unless a specific piece is made from it. We do not use the word ethical as a category, because it is not one.

When we can measure something properly, we will publish it here. Until then, the claims stay off the page.

Closing

Grown rather than mined, made once rather than stocked, and built to be worn for a lifetime. That is our whole position, and it is the same whether you ask us about the planet or about the ring.
