How We Make
The short answer
Every Amarii ring is made to order. Within 24 hours of your order you receive a video of your actual diamond to approve. Your ring is then drawn in CAD for your approval, cast, set and finished, and you approve photos and a video of the finished piece before it ships. Making takes 3 to 4 weeks from CAD approval.
What happens after you choose your design?
01
Your design takes shape
The process begins with your chosen design and the details that make it yours. This includes the centre stone, ring style, setting, metal and other design choices.
A render is used to establish how the finished ring is intended to look before production begins. It brings the individual decisions together as one complete design.
Once you have placed your order, the first thing you see is your diamond.
Will I see my diamond before it is set?
02
Your diamond, on video
Within 24 hours of your order, we send you a video of your actual diamond. For centre stones of one carat and above, its IGI report comes with it. You approve the stone before anything is made.
A video shows how the stone actually moves and returns light, which a photograph or a grade on its own cannot. If it is not right, tell us before we go any further.
Once you approve the stone, your ring moves to the digital CAD stage.
What is a CAD design?
03
You see the ring before it is made
CAD stands for computer aided design. It creates a detailed digital representation of your ring so the proportions, setting and design can be reviewed before production.
This is where the centre stone, band, setting and other details can be considered together. The CAD design gives you a clear view of the ring before the physical making begins.
Your approval is the point at which the design moves from digital concept to production, and it starts the 3 to 4 week making time.
How is an Amarii ring cast?
04
The digital design becomes a ring
Once the CAD design is approved, the ring moves into production. The approved design is used to create the physical metal structure of the ring through casting.
Casting creates the metal form of the design. The resulting structure is then prepared for the next stage, where the stones are carefully placed.
The structure needs to be ready before setting begins.
How are the diamonds and gemstones set?
05
The stones are placed
The setting stage brings the physical ring together. The centre stone and any additional diamonds or gemstones are placed into their prepared settings.
The setting needs to hold each stone securely while allowing the intended shape and proportions of the design to remain visible.
Once the stones are set, the ring moves into its final finishing stage.
How is an Amarii ring finished?
06
The details are completed
Finishing is the final stage of making the ring. The metal is refined, surfaces are finished and the completed piece is checked before it leaves us.
This stage completes the physical details of the ring and prepares the finished piece for delivery.
Before it ships, we send you photos and a video of your finished ring to approve. Once you are happy, it makes its way to you.
How long does an Amarii ring take to make?
An Amarii ring is made to order in 3 to 4 weeks from CAD approval. That time covers casting, stone setting, finishing and your final approval. Delivery is additional.
Your diamond video arrives within 24 hours of your order, before the CAD stage, so you are never waiting weeks to see your stone.
What does made to order mean?
Made to order means your ring is created after you have chosen the design and specifications. The production process begins with your decisions rather than with a finished ring already selected for you.
This allows the centre stone, setting, metal and other design details to be considered together.
The result is a ring created around your choices.
