The guide
About our oval engagement rings
An oval diamond has the brilliance of a round with a longer, softer outline that flatters the hand and draws the eye along the finger. Because more of the stone faces up, an oval often looks larger than a round diamond of the same carat weight.
Every Amarii oval ring is made to order. Choose your setting, from a classic solitaire to a hidden halo or trilogy, then select your oval lab grown diamond from our certified collection. A length to width ratio between 1.35 and 1.50 gives the classic oval shape, and we can help you find the one you love. Diamonds of one carat and above come with an IGI report, and every ring ships with complimentary express delivery across Australia.
Questions
Frequently asked
Which setting suits an oval diamond?
A solitaire or hidden halo lets the oval outline speak for itself. A halo adds presence and makes the centre stone look larger, while a trilogy with side stones gives a fuller look across the finger.
What is the bow tie in an oval diamond?
Some ovals show a darker band across the centre, shaped like a bow tie, where light passes through rather than reflecting back. A well cut oval keeps it subtle. Book a consultation and we can talk you through any stone before you order.
Do oval diamonds cost less than round diamonds?
Carat for carat, an oval is usually a little less expensive than a round of the same quality, because less of the rough crystal is lost in cutting.
Are lab grown diamonds real diamonds?
Yes. Lab grown diamonds are real diamonds, with the same chemical, physical and optical properties as diamonds formed in the earth. The difference is where they grow, not what they are.
Is the diamond certified?
Centre stones of one carat and above are independently graded by IGI, and the report comes with your ring. Smaller stones are hand selected to colour D, E or F, VS clarity and an Excellent cut.
Which diamonds does Amarii offer?
Amarii Curated diamonds are Ideal or Excellent cut, D to F colour and IF to VS2 clarity. You choose the shape and carat, and every stone we offer meets that standard.
How long does an engagement ring take?
Once your design is confirmed, your ring is made to order in three to four weeks, with complimentary express shipping within Australia.
Can I change the design?
Yes. Every design is a starting point. Book a video consultation and we can adjust the setting, band or details, and you approve the CAD before anything is made.
